I love that it was easy to assemble and how much you can bend the joints. As I wanna improve as an artist, one of my biggest dilemmas is looking for pictures for references and I often take forever to find a picture for the pose I need that by the time i find it, i will be tired and no longer want to draw. It’s a very good stop motion puppet for beginners. I had a lot of fun using it and I hope to do more cool. Stop motion with it. The only bad part is that they have a tendency to pop out of the sockets.

I am neither animator nor artist, rather am working at figure drawing for distraction and relaxation. Stickybones is a small package course in movement and the relationships of parts and angles in motion. Have a second one arriving tomorrow. As soon as I saw this, I knew I had to have it. I’m illustrating a graphic novel and I bought it to use as a model for that. I’m very interested in a child proportioned Sticky Bones. My granddaughter who’s 10 came to visit and made this stop action video. We sure had a good time with the Light Ray Sticky Bones. My granddaughter really likes doing stop motion animation. Light Ray is my 2nd Sticky Bones. Loved the first one had to get a second. If you had a female version I might get 2 more! Fully poseable and though it's fun with one it's so much better with two! Now get that female version going.

Love the color, and the figure is extremely poseable. A real treasure for creating reference images. Any pose, any camera angle. Technically you can do the same with a 3D model, but it's so much faster (for me) to work it out with my hands.

Easy to put together - apart from the heel and toes, which were super hard to connect (so hard, in fact, I think they should be done prior to shipping). Lots of realistic movements possible, and the magnets make it stable to pose in a wide range of dynamic movements. Should be perfect for my first stop motion animation project with a green screen. I was a little concerned the colour would not show up on a green screen, because other yellow items have disappeared, but this must have more blue than green in it, so is fine to use with a green screen.

The figure was great to use for stop motion videos. The information on how to put the figure together was a well put step-by-step video. From what I see just with this figure alone, I believe that I would certainly recommend this to people, and, sometime in the future, possibly purchase more.

So far, totally worth picking up! My stickybones has almost no issues with holding a pose and moving around smoothly! He’s very sturdy and thanks to the plate, is easy to adjust for when you’re shooting an animation. As a bonus I like to use him for when I’m trying to find a good pose to draw.

I love my stickybones. I wish I could get one in red or maybe candy cane flavors. They are becoming my frustration relief devices. I was wondering is there a way to get faster shipping? For me, the limbs are a bit too long, specially the arms. Also, the hands are quite large, but I understand they couldn't be much smaller otherwise joint strength would be compromised.
Apart from these, I like the expressiveness and the flexibility of the figure very much, including that of the hands/fingers (and feet). Its nice to have a dedicated neck bone, and its interesting how the flexibility of the shoulder is achieved with a separate shoulder rod. I think the head has a good shape as well, I like that the mouth is missing, making a more neutral/abstract, hence more universal look. Overall I feel much artistic insight went into the design of this mannequin which I appreaciate.
As for the movability/range of the various joints, i.e. how I can realize certain poses that I imagine provided the possibilities (e.g. around the wrist/lower-arm), I need to gain more experience. I bought the figure to study drawing, and perhaps start making stop motion animation.

I thought it was great. It looks nice feels nice, it was fun to animate with. There was only one problem that I had with it, which is that it doesn't have labels on the parts. The manual will have numbers and letters on it but the body parts themselves don't have any of those letters or numbers, But if you know the human anatomy really well then you would know what part goes where. Other than that I love the product. Overall I would recommend this item for both drawing and stop motion animation.

I had a barrier in my mind when it came to shading my characters. I’m so glad I found this little guy. It’s SO flexible! I can pose him, give him the lighting I’m looking for, and snap a picture. Boom, reference! It sure beats wasting hours on my phone looking for the “perfect” reference photo considering I’m easily distracted and prefer to not touch my phone when drawing. It’s something I can hold in my hands, I don’t have to learn a program to get what I need and it’s fun to play with. Big win!

I'm SO happy with this purchase. Picked up the Light Ray model with the new Fly Rig and this is the most usable, inspiring mannequin I've ever owned. Fly Rig is an absolute necessity, don't miss out on a million more poses you can create with this thing.
